Unbox Your Curiosity

Please reach us at Write@AlexisTheAuthor.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Alexis Cullen is a writer, speaker, and creative soul behind powerful books like Unboxed: That Black Muslim Girl and Your Favorite Girl to Hate. Her work centers on identity, healing, mental health, and unapologetic storytelling. She writes for women who’ve been overlooked, underestimated, or labeled “too much"

Unboxed is a raw and reflective coming-of-age journey about a Black Muslim girl navigating identity, faith, friendship, and the complicated layers of being “too much” in a world that wants you to shrink. It’s part memoir, part poetry, part manifesto.

Most of my stories are born from personal experience, conversations with other women, and a desire to give voice to things we often bury—grief, anxiety, identity, and transformation. Writing became my form of rebellion and release.
